Thirty years ago, Houten was a small agricultural village with fewer than 4,000 inhabitants. However, in the space of a few decades, this small village has undergone remarkable growth. In the early 1970s, plans were made to develop Houten into a medium-sized town over the course of several decades. Many people from Utrecht and the surrounding area moved into new homes in Houten. The number of amenities in Houten also increased significantly. In this new Houten, the old and new villages are fully integrated. The restaurants and cafés are concentrated in the Old Village on the Square, while a station and a shopping centre (Het Rond) are located in the centre of the new part. The whole area is surrounded by noise barriers and the Rondweg, within which a dense network of cycle paths connects the neighbourhoods (by car, you can only drive around via the Rondweg). This makes Houten a clean, safe and, above all, peaceful place to live. New business parks provide employment opportunities.

Ground floor
From the hall with toilet and meter cupboard and the stairs to the upper floor, you enter an L-shaped living room with open kitchen, which is equipped with a ceramic hob, combination microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The L-shaped kitchen is located on the street side and the seating area on the garden side. The garden has wooden decking, a rose bush and ivy on the right-hand side. The garden is approximately 5 metres wide by 8 metres long at its deepest point.
The front garden is approximately 1.5 metres by 5.40 metres and has space for a bench or separate chairs so you can enjoy your morning coffee in the sun.

First floor
The first floor has a bathroom with a bath, shower and toilet, as well as three rooms, one of which is a spacious room on the street side, just like the bathroom, and two of which are one small and one spacious room on the garden side.

Attic
The attic is a large room with a washing machine connection, a Velux skylight and a small window on the garden side. The entire attic has dark grey laminate flooring and currently functions as a bedroom.
