Rent increase 2019

This month, many tenants will receive their annual rent increase letter. A rent increase means that the amount you pay monthly for the rent of your home will be increased. The rent for your home may be increased a maximum of twice every 24 months. Usually this takes place on 1 July each year.Soon you will also receive your rent increase letter from vb&t. The rent adjustment letter will contain the following information:

• Date on which the rent increase will take effect;
• Old and new basic rent;
• Percentage or amount by which the rent is increased;
• How you can object.

Rent increase regulations

The rent increase depends on the rules drawn up annually by the government and the provisions included in the tenancy agreement. More information about the regulations concerning the rent increase can be found on the website of the Rijksoverheid
